About

Our story

What We Do and Why

As a husband and wife working together in the construction industry for so many years we realized we had something special. We realized we could take Scott’s financial, operational, and analytical mind and combine it with Shayla’s creative, strategic and marketing talents to then help others reach their goals as construction business owners and as project owners looking for support.

We offer a variety of construction consulting services enabling us to provide critical solutions for clients in Little Rock, Arkansas and around the nation.

Meet Scott Copas

Scott worked for, built, and led a multi-million dollar construction business, for over four decades in Little Rock, Arkansas with a deep ethical passion and high standard for corporate accountability. During this timeframe, after acquiring the position as CEO, he and his wife Shayla developed a strategy to take the company from $80 million to over $326 million a year which put the company at its best financial position to date.

Educated at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas, Scott studied Architecture and Business Administration. Scott Copas’ expertise has been recognized by the media as one of the state’s Top 50 Influential Leaders in Arkansas for 2022 as well as one of the Top 250 Executives in the state for the third year running. Representing the design and construction industry, Copas previously held the position of Co-Chairman of the legislative Joint Committee on Education Facilities.

Scott is also a past chairman and board member for the Arkansas Contractor’s Licensing Board, a lifetime National Director of the Associated General Contractors of America, past member of the advisory board for the University of Arkansas School of Architecture, current member of the UALR Construction Management Advisory Board, and an ex-officio Board Member of the ADPSAFT since its establishment in 2005. Scott also is a past Chairman of the Fifty for The Future, a Central Arkansas CEO civic organization for advancement of economic development and quality of life in Central Arkansas.

Along with his wife, Shayla, the Copas’ were honored in 2015 by KARK TV with the Citizens Community Service for the State of Arkansas. Scott currently serves on the Boards of Easters Seals of Arkansas, Arkansas Career Education and Workforce Development, and on the Arvest Bank LTT Board.

While working for Scott, and a Little Rock Arkansas Construction Company Shayla streamlined their process in the following areas:

Shayla Copas is a partner with Copas + Co and lead strategist. Shayla has been in business for over 25 years and has designed numerous award-winning projects throughout the State of Arkansas and beyond. The Shayla Copas Interiors team’s commercial projects include; historic renovation, office, hospitality, retail, government, non-profit, healthcare, corporate office, religious institutions, and banking.

Over the course of Scott’s role as CEO, Shayla realized the company needed to increase their “wins” and decrease project losses. It was at this point she created her own proprietary method of strategy, public relations, and marketing on each project lead. The company project wins went up 150% over a six month period once the plan was implemented. Shayla realized that with her knowledge of design, marketing, public relations and strategy, it was time to help others increase their profitability.
